A look at both

From a side view, you can see that I have two very large planter boxes surrounded or encased with block walls. My yellow Day Lily in one box and the Magenta in the other. All the other flowers you are seeing today are used more like ground covers. I didn't show my yellow daisies as their blooming period is over for now.

marigold

Marigolds are so hardy in this area. I love the contrast they give to the desert browns in this area.

No Name

I call these Pom Poms. But what are they really called? Do you know? Two colors on the same bush. Interesting , huh?

Nameless

I love this gorgeous flower and I don't even know it's name. Gotta get some more. Do you know it's name?

Orange Trumpets

Looking up at my patio cover, I see a beautiful, orange Trumpet looking at me.

One more Father's Day card

Good morning friends, How was your week end? Mine was so frustrating. I mean really frustrating! So when the tough gets, going the tough go shopping. But first I had to eat. So I called my BFF. We went to Panera Bread and then to Baskin Robbins. I had Toffee Pecan ice cream in a cup! Yummo on both places!! I still needed to go shopping, so we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and I didn't spend any money, Yeaaaa! So, onward and back at home, I went back to the drawing board (I mean computer). This was Friday. I was still unable to upload from my camera. This happens often lately and I don't know why. Saturday same problem. I went shopping again. I mean if life hands you lemons, just make lemonade. Except I eat chocolate and eat chocolate and eat chocolate. So Saturday I had Toffee Pecan ice cream again. It's a very rich chocolate with toffee covered pecans. Deelish!!! That evening, I tried to upload from my camera several times (again!) and to no avail nada/nothing!! Sunday after church (just for fun) I stopped at Michaels (ssshhhh). Well, I did have a coupon for 50% off. Came home, tried to upload from my camera and still nada/nothing. So I went back to Big M's (just for fun). After all I had a return to make (and another 50% coupon). Fifty dollars later (ssshhh), I went home and tried again. What!! Nada/nothing! Well, now I made some trail mix with the small bag of M&M's I had purchased at that store I had gone to just for fun. Now I ask you, trail mix is healthy for you isn't it? Ice cream is dairy and that's healthy too isn't it? Dark Chocolate is healthy too, right? So I didn't do too much damage this week end. Except maybe I shoulda and coulda stayed out of Big M's. All week end I kept thinking where are the teen agers when you need them. I was so down and out about this uploading problem I was asking myself why did I start a blog. I had several reasons but won't go into that now. Okay so now we are at Monday morning. I wasn't going to even try to upload from my camera. But a small voice kept prompting me to try again. It worked on my first try!!!!! I did nothing different, it just worked this time. Does anyone have an explanation for me? I feel much better now. I just don't want this problem to continue. So please help me. Someone please. Thank you for letting me vent and for being there to listen.

One reason for this blog is because I enjoy sharing what I love to do. Stamping. I like that you come back to view my projects and that you send your friends over to do the same. I like when you leave me comments. So let me share today's card which I made for one of my sons. I used a retiring stamp set called Friends 24-7. For me this set is a keeper. Guess what? Last week was my first time using this set! The papers I used are : River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Woodland Walk DSP, and Whisper White. Ink: Soft Suede and Rose Red. I also used the Designer Label punch, Dimensionals, a rhinestone, brads and a dauber. Thank you for your visit today. I'm taking the rest of the week off (maybe two) but I leave you with a few photos of my back yard. God bless you.

Redo of Sense of Time

Your right, this is another card from last week. I just knew I had to do a little bit of something to this card. Was it ribbon, brads, color or what? I decided to add color. I made a second card but this time the card base is on Baja Breeze card stock. Much better. I also created a birthday card for my nephew but forgot to take picture of it. So nothing too new to share today. Have a great day and be blessed. Thank you for stopping by.

Adding a Little Something

Yes, I shared this card last week. Something was missing so I added a little something to make it look a little bit nicer or maybe to make me feel better. Do you see what I added? It's something black and round. You are so right! It's a black rhinestone for the birdies eye. Take a look at the next card. Anything different?

Week End Questions

Good morning friends, My questions today are .... how was your week end? Did you do any stamping? Did you hangout with people you love? Did you attend your place of worship? Did you celebrate a special occasion? Did you spend a day in the sun? Did you laugh until your face hurt?

My answers to all those questions are ..... Yes, I did all of the above. I had two wonderful stamp classes. I love spending time with my friends doing what we love. That would be stamping! I went to my nephew's graduation party. The party was also his birthday party. I had a great time catching up with relatives I don't get to see often. Sunday after church my BFF and I had a fabulous day in the sun at our local fairgrounds. The event there was a fundraiser for all our local charities. This is an event that started out a few years ago at a local car dealership and has progressively grown to now being held at the fairgrounds. We saw the beautiful cars of yesteryear which have been restored to look better than ever. Then there was the Bike show. Harleys in every color, size and shape. We got there in time to see the Dirt Track Motorsports - loud cars racing around and driving crazy. We missed the entertainment because we were too busy looking at cars and bikes. There was no flower show, no craft show, and no quilters nor table settings. Oh well, that's right around the corner at our AV Fair in August. Ending my Sunday evening, I was on the phone with another best friend and we had the funniest things to say. We laughed and laughed until our faces hurt. So you see my week end was a blast! For sure!!!

Cupcake Birthday

Good morning friends, good to have you visiting again. I have my hot cup of coffee and a delicious Paula Deen breakfast bread with me. It is so yummy....Caramel Apple Streusal with Pecans!!!! What are you having? I made today's card share last night and took the photo in my evening house lighting. Consequently the background looks weird and it bothers me. How about you? The only stamp I used was from a very old retired stamp set which I took apart and kept only the sentiment. Is that what's called a run-on sentence? I did enjoy creating this card. Just between you and me, I really started out to make this a masculine birthday card. I think I should make another card and save this one for a girl. Do you agree? So here goes the shopping list.

Paper: Playdate DSP, Whisper White, Razzle Dazzle DSP (R), Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Square Duo Bigz die, Cupcake Builder Punch, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed today's card. Thank you for visiting and have a blessed day.

Sense of Time

Hello friends, How was your week end? I went to my daughters on Saturday and to church yesterday. The sprinkler system in the back yard has decided to quit. So I have been watering with the hose. I've actually been enjoying doing that as we have been having beautiful sunny weather in Southern California. I need sunshine - have to get my vitamin D you know. My card share for today was a fast one. I wanted to layer another clock on the one pictured with dimensionals for a 3-d effect but decided against it as I don't own the circle scissors plus. I picked two stamp sets that are retiring by the end of this month. Have you seen the retirement lists? Sanded is a retiring stamp - and I just bought mine. I'll be keeping it forever though. Try to check with my stamp store regularly on the retiring products. Especially the accessories. They sell out quickly. My shopping list follows.

Stamp sets: Sense of Time, Sanded
Paper: Soft Suede, Confetti Cream
Ink: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Accessories: brown ribbon, dimensionals, cutter kit

Enjoy your Monday. Count your blessings and I'll see you tomorrow. God bless you.

By Anjanette

Good Morning friends, here I am again with another Easter swap card. Anjanette made both these cards. The 3x3 card is punch art. I love the bunny and I must remember how to make them for the next time I need a bunny. The Easter Blossom card is much prettier that it shows here. Annjanette did a beautiful job with the white blossoms.
I need to get with the program and let you know about the Last Chance lists at Stampin' Up. The lists are of never to be seen again products (never to be for sale in the catalog). Go to my online store to see exactly which stamp sets, accessories and home decore elements will be retired by the end of the month. Accessories are fast selling so get them while they are available.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you got some ideas for your paper crafting. Have a great week end. Blessings.

By Bev

The next card was created by Bev. I really like the bubble wrap technique she used on the background. I'm so thankful for all the bubble wrap I have been saving. This card is covered with texture and is so pretty. Truly a Spring card. Thank you Bev Gomez and thank you my friends for stopping by. Have a blessed day.

By Darla and Kristen

Good morning friends, I still have Easter swaps to share. These are 3x3 cards the cute bunny on the left was created by Kristen. Cute and simple. Darla's card is a basket of colorful flowers. Definitly punch art and represents Spring so well. Thank you ladies.

Easter Blossom by Shelly

Here I have two cards created by Shelly. She used the Easter Blossom stamp set and on the 3x3 card she used stamp art. Nice job on the clouds. Both cards are creative and so Spring. Thank you Shelly.

Easter by Evelyn

Hello friends, today I am back to sharing Easter card swaps. These two cards were made by Msscrapper. I really like the DSP she used on the regular size card but I don't have a clue what it's name is. With the 3x3 card I am really impressed with the fact that she made the envelope and even added removable sticky on the envelope. Very nice projects Evelyn. Thank you.
